Adams Becomes UNB’s Digs Leader

Published on

(FREDERICTON, NB) Jenna Adams has become the all-time leader in digs in UNB women’s volleyball history.

With her 1042nd career dig, which came in Saturday’s 3-1 win in Moncton, Adams surpassed Maggie McLenahan’s 1041.

McLenahan played five seasons with the Varsity Reds and REDS, between 2014-15 and 2018-19.

“Hitting this milestone means a lot, but it’s really a reflection of the group around me more than anything,” said Adams. “They’ve trusted me, challenged me, and made me better every single day we train. I’m just super grateful to be part of a group like this.”

Adams recorded 15 digs on Saturday, UNB’s 2025-26 Atlantic University Sport season opener, giving her 1046. That moves her into the AUS’ top ten list.

“This is a well-earned milestone for Jenna,” said REDS’ head coach Lauren Hale-Miller. “She’s a calm presence on the court, reads the ball so well, and provides a steady, reliable defence for us. Her consistency over the past three seasons has been a big part of our team’s identity.”

Averaging 4.67 digs per set over her career, the fourth-year libero will continue to climb the AUS top ten list

Kristen Ryan, who played with Cape Breton’s now defunct program, sits atop the AUS list with 1427 digs. She played from 2007-08 through 2011-12.

“We’re really happy for her and excited to watch her continue to break and set new records,” said Coach Hale-Miller.

Adams and her REDS teammates are back in action this weekend, hosting the Dalhousie Tigers on Friday, at 6:00pm, and again Saturday, at 1:00pm.
