Published on

The sixth seed Lancer men’s volleyball team was awarded the R.W. Pugh Fair Play Award following the consolation final on Sunday in Brandon, MB.

The blue and gold finished the U SPORTS championship in sixth place, following a 3-0 (19-25, 15-25, 21-25) loss to the Winnipeg Wesmen in the consolation final.

Gustavo Siquiera led the Lancers with seven kills, while Anthony Ivanovski and Darian Koskie had five each, with Ivanovski also registering a .571 efficiency. Ivanovski was also named the Lancers player of the game.

Saturday’s 3-0 win over the Western Mustangs in the consolation semi-final was Windsor’s first ever victory at the national tournament in program history, and their sixth place finish overall is their best finish at the championships.

The Lancers are expected to return a large portion of their roster for the 2025-26 season, as they prepare to host the 2026 U SPORTS national championships at the Toldo Lancer Centre.
