As the Nipissing Lakers men’s volleyball team continues to establish themselves as one of the more consistent teams in the OUA, they are being rewarded with both overall success and individual success.
The Lakers finished fifth this season and earned a playoff spot once again and on top of that, their strong setter, Jack Svendsen, was recognized for his strong year.
The second-year setter was named a second team all-star – the second straight year he has earned league hardware.

Svendsen put together an impressive campaign despite being sidelined late with an injury.
He ranked seventh in the OUA in assists and sixth in assists per set, while playing four fewer matches than the leaders.
He recorded at least 22 assists in every match, with his season-high coming against Guelph on Jan.10, when he had an incredible 56.
Overall, he had two matches with over 50 assists, four with over 40 and nine matches where he eclipsed the 30-assist mark.
He now has over 1,200 career assists in 36 matches over two seasons with the Lakers.
