NEWS: Odigie named OUA First Team All-Star

Published on

The Gee-Gees leading offensive player for 2024-25, Audrey Odigie, was announced on Monday as an OUA First Team All-Star selection. This is the second All-Star selection in her career and comes following a season which saw her rank second in OUA for points scored, and third in the league in two key statistical categories.

Odigie tallied 335.5 total points over her 76 sets played, averaging 4.4 points per set; in both total points and points per set the third-year outside hitter ranked second in the conference.

Notably, she equalled her points per set total from the 2023-24 season when she led the RSEQ conference in that category and was selected as a First Team All-Star.

Odigie, who hails from Brampton, Ont., was third in the conference in total kills with 278 in 76 sets played. Her 3.66 kills per set tied for fourth in the conference.

The Finance student established a new career high in service aces, ranking third in OUA with 42 total, good for 0.55 aces per set.

Also a career high was Odigie’s hitting percentage of .197, which led the Gee-Gees this season among the four players who played in at least 60 per cent of the sets and averaged  more than three attacks per set. Odigie also tied for the team lead in digs per set with 2.24.

Ottawa finished with a 7-13 record on their return to the OUA conference this season.
