TORONTO – The Bold are pleased to announce the following student-student athletes as the stars of the week, ending January 19, 2025.

Hasveen Arulrajan – Track & Field – 1st Year – Civil Engineering

  • Competed in the Fred Foot Meet at Bruce Kidd Field House
  • Finished first in the men’s shot put
  • Broke the school record for the men’s shot put for the second time this year, surpassing his previous record by over two meters with an OUA auto-qualifying throw of 13.22m

Ryan Dugas – Men’s Hockey – 3rd Year – Business Management

  • Played a major role in helping the No. 10 nationally-ranked Bold secure two keys win during the week, stopping 52 of 54 shots and recording a .963 save percentage.
  • Made 27 saves and only allowed one goal in a 3-1 win over Ontario Tech
  • Registered 25 saves and allowed only one goal in a 4-1 victory over Toronto

Jayme Foreman – Women’s Basketball – 4th Year – Psychology

  • Led the No. 10 nationally-ranked Bold to two wins at Lakehead, scoring double digits in both contests
  • Scored 12 points, grabbed four rebounds and went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in a 69-50 win on Friday night
  • Poured in 19 points on 6-for-14 shooting, making four three-pointers in a 71-52 victory on Saturday

Jafer Kamoonpuri – Fencing – Graduate Student – PhD, Aerospace Engineering

  • Traveled to Ottawa to participate in the Carleton Invitational Championship
  • Won the gold medal in the men’s team sabre event along with his teammates Niraj Karki and Cedric Bo

Alex King – Men’s Volleyball – Graduate Student – Business Management

  • Helped the Bold earn a split against the defending OUA champion McMaster Marauders
  • Recorded 10 or more kills in back-to-back games
  • Led the Bold to a five-set victory on Saturday, recording 12 kills, four blocks and six digs

Kaiya Krahn – Women’s Volleyball – 2nd Year – Biomedical Science

  • Competed for the Bold in two matches against the McMaster Marauders
  • Totaled a match-high 17 kills versus the Marauders on Saturday
  • Finished second on the team with 10 digs
