Tigers add Cowan for 2025-26

Published on

Dalhousie Tigers women’s volleyball head coach Patrick Murray is pleased to announce the commitment of Cayden Cowan for the 2025-26 season.

Hailing from Halifax, NS, the 6’0” outside hitter has played for the Bedford Blizzards Volleyball Club for the past three seasons, earning two bronze medals at the Volleyball Nova Scotia championships. Cowan has represented Team Nova Scotia and been a member of the Provincial Excellence Program (PEP) for the past three years. She has also been part of the Targeted Athlete Program (TAP) for the past two years.

A third-generation Tiger, Cowan will follow in the footsteps of her grandfather, mother, and father.

“I have grown up living in Halifax, going to the Dal games and looking up to the girls on the team,” says Cowan. “I am so excited to now be considered one of those girls and I can’t wait to be the next Tiger in my family!”

The principal list student, Cowan will be studying science at Dalhousie.

“Cayden was the very first athlete to introduce themselves to me when I started this role,” Murray. “Her competitive drive and passion for this sport was immediately apparent. Making the transition from middle blocker to outside hitter this season, Cayden will continue to grow into the offensive force she is capable of being. We are thrilled that Cayden has chosen to continue her post-secondary journey with the Tigers.”

The Tigers finished the AUS regular season in first place with 16 wins and four losses.
