BLUES SWEEP PALADINS TO END REGULAR SEASON

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team closed out their 2024-25 regular season with a triumphant 3-0 sweep over the RMC Paladins on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Kingston, Ont.

The Blues had control of the play for the entire game, coming away with the win in a game that had set scores of 25-23, 25-20, and 25-18. While RMC kept the opening set close, the Blues pulled away late to secure the 25-23 win. In the second set, Toronto’s attack found another gear, hitting at an impressive .480 efficiency to take a 2-0 lead. The final set saw the Blues maintain their rhythm, closing out the match with a strong 25-18 finish.

Leading the way for the Blues was Connor Vanderkuip, who tallied a team-high eight kills and 10 total points. Jayden Talsma and Iannis Toma each contributed eight points, with Talsma leading the team with two service aces. Setter Michael Hickey orchestrated the offense with 29 assists, while Luka Minic and Lukas Humle each added seven points. Vanderkuip and Humle each recorded a solo block.

Tommy Roussel was a standout performer for the Paladins, leading all scorers with 15 kills and 16 points. The team hit at an efficient .390 overall but struggled with service errors and Toronto’s strong defensive play.

With this win, the Blues end the regular season with a 15-5 record. U of T will be back in action for the playoffs with their opponent, date, and time of game to be determined.
