Brock opened the weekend series against the No. 9 Western Mustangs with a victory.
The No. 9 ranked Brock Badgers women’s volleyball team won 3-0 with a sweep (25-18, 25-19, 25-20) over the No. 10 ranked Western Mustangs at Alumni Hall on Friday, Jan. 24.
Emily Foest recorded a game-high 15 points from 11 kills, three aces and one block. Charlotte Ross also notched a game-high three aces, with Mackenna Knox grabbing 35 assists.
After a back and forth opening set, the Badger pulled ahead ending it with a 6-1 run and clinching the set victory with an Emily Foest block, taking it 25-18.
The Badgers took advantage early in the second set, climbing to a 12-6 lead over the Mustangs. Foest proved to be too much for Western helping the Badgers take the frame 25-19 with five kills.
Clinching the win, the Badgers came back from being down 9-4, with Sadie Dick’s seventh kill of the game being the final point needed to take the final set by five, 25-20.
With a .323 hitting percentage, the Badgers led the Mustangs who mustered a .110.
