Hannah Duchesneau, Amanda Siksna and Claire Carter Receive All-Star Honors

KINGSTON, Ont. (March 3, 2025) – Queen’s Women’s Volleyball continues to showcase outstanding talent, with Hannah DuchesneauAmanda Siksna, and Claire Carter earning recognition in the 2024-25 OUA All-Star awards.

Leading the accolades, middle blocker Siksna (Education) earned a spot on the Second Team All-Star roster. Siksna’s defensive impact was pivotal to the Gaels success, capping the campaign first in the country with 99 total blocks, averaging 1.38 blocks per set.

“Amanda has been an incredible defensive leader for this program during her time at Queen’s,” said Shanice Marcelle, head coach of the Queen’s Women’s Volleyball team. She works incredibly hard in training and brings a lot of professionalism in mastering her craft.”

Siksna also contributed 120 kills, 49 digs, and a hitting percentage of .288 this season.

Carter (School of Business), an outside hitter, earned Third Team All-Star honors. Carter’s exceptional service game has been a significant asset for the team, leading both the OUA and U SPORTS with 56 service aces.

“Claire really stepped into her own this season after limited game experience last year, bringing a lot of competence and composure to the team. I’m excited to see her future as she continues with our program next season,” Marcelle noted. 

The second-year athlete also recorded 152 kills and 118 digs, showcasing their ability to contribute on both offense and defense.

The Gaels capped their regular season with a 17-3 record, the best in the OUA. However, their playoff run came to an end in the quarterfinals with a loss to the Toronto Varsity Blues.
