
The Winnipeg Wesmen, who won the Canada West title with a sweep of defending national champions Alberta last Saturday, are the top seed heading into the 2025 U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball Championship. U SPORTS announced the seeding on Wednesday for the 2025 championship, which runs from March 21-23 at the Healthy Living Centre on the campus of Brandon University.

The complete field, in seeding order, is as follows:
- Winnipeg Wesmen (CW champions: 17-3, 4-0)
- Sherbrooke Vert & Or (RSEQ champions: 14-2, 4-0)
- Alberta Golden Bears (CW finalists: 16-4, 3-1)
- Queen’s Gaels (OUA champions: 15-5, 3-0)
- Saskatchewan Huskies (CW bronze medallists: 14-6, 3-2)
- Windsor Lancers (OUA finalists: 18-2, 2-1)
- Western Mustangs (OUA bronze medallists: 10-10, 2-1)
- Brandon Bobcats (host: 10-10, 0-2)
The eight participating teams are ranked based on a set of five criteria: teams’ records against U SPORTS opposition, their rankings in the SRS, RPI and Elo rating systems and the results of the final coaches’ poll. The teams are then seeded with the requirements that conference playoff results be respected, conference champions be seeded no lower than No. 6, the top two teams from each conference be on opposite sides of the draw and to avoid conference matchups as much as possible.
The quarterfinals will be played on Friday, March 21, as follows: (all times Central)
- Noon: No. 7 Western vs. No. 2 Sherbrooke
- 2 p.m.: No. 6 Windsor vs. No. 3 Alberta
- 6 p.m.: No. 1 Winnipeg at No. 8 Brandon
- 8 p.m.: No. 5 Saskatchewan at No. 4 Queen’s
Consolation games will take place on Saturday, March 22 at noon and 2 p.m., with the semifinals set for 6 and 8 p.m. On Sunday, the fifth-place game is set for 1 p.m., with the bronze medal game following at 3 p.m. and the championship game at 6 p.m.
Tickets for the championship are currently on sale at usportstickets.ca, with limited tickets still available.
All 11 games from the event will be broadcast live on CBC Sports digital platforms in English. In French, the games will be carried on Radio Canada’s digital platforms (French).
