LIONS SWEPT BY MUSTANGS IN FIRST LEG OF WEEKEND SERIES

The York University Lions men’s volleyball team hit the road for the first time this season to face the Western Mustangs in a quest to start a winning streak after defeating the McMaster Marauders in an epic five-set thriller last Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Mustangs pounced on the Lions early in this one, as they took the opening set by a score of 25-16 to go up 1-0
• The Lions found their legs in the second set, but ultimately fell 25-20 to go down 2-0. 
• The third set was the closest of the night with the Lions looking to stave off a sweep. The third needed extra points, but Western earned the last laugh with a 29-27 third-set victory to sweep the Lions in three sets.

The two teams will collide again in a rematch tomorrow, November 18. First serve is slated at 8:00 p.m.
