Stars of the Week

TORONTO – The Bold are pleased to announce the following student-athletes as the stars of the week, ending February 16, 2025.

Emily Baxter – Women’s Hockey – Graduate Student – Masters, Biomedical Sciences

• Captained the Bold to two wins over nationally-ranked opponents, Laurier and Toronto
• Tallied four points across two games
• Scored one goal against Laurier and three against Toronto

Megan Breen – Women’s Hockey – 4th Year – Criminology

• Alongside Baxter, played a key role in helping the Bold knock off Laurier and Toronto
• Also tallied four points across two games
• Scored one goal and one assist in each contest

Jacob Duck – Track & Field – 2nd Year – Image Arts: Film Studies

• Competed for the Bold at the Hal Brown Last Chance Meet
• Continued his streak of personal bests with a triple jump of 13.43m
• Jumped less than a metre shy of a U SPORTS top-12 qualifying spot

Alex King – Men’s Volleyball – Graduate Student – Businesss Management

• Helped the Bold split a two-match series against nationally ranked York
• Recorded more than 19.5 points in each contest
• Powered the Bold with 13 kills, four service aces and seven digs in Saturday’s win

Mary Rioflorido – Women’s Volleyball – 4th Year – Psychology

• The Bold libero played the final two games of her career against York on Friday and Saturday
• Registered more than 20 digs in back-to-back games
• Recorded 30 digs on Saturday against York, the second-most in a single game in TMU history

Aidan Wilson – Men’s Basketball – 4th Year – Creative Industries

• Led the Bold to wins on the road over York and McMaster
• Swatted a career-high four blocks in the win over York
• Scored a career-high 16 points in the victory against McMaster
