TOMA SELECTED TO U SPORTS ALL-ROOKIE TEAM

As announced by U SPORTS on Thursday (Mar. 20) morning ahead of the 2025 U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball Championship, Varsity Blues outside hitter Iannis Toma has been recognized as a U SPORTS all-rookie.

Following up on OUA all-rookie honours received earlier this month, Toma was a dynamic presence for Toronto in just his first season wearing the Blue and White. The 6-foot-5 outside hitter appeared in 19 matches, registering 10 or more kills across eight games this season. His 161 total kills and 193 total points ranked him third in team scoring for both categories. Toma was also one of four Blues to record double-digit service aces this season, finishing the campaign with 16.

Additionally, Toma provided a strong defensive ability, showcased by both his digs and blocks registered. Across the 19 regular season matches, he recorded over 125 total digs to rank second on the team with a 1.85 digs per set average. He also added 24 blocks at the net, defensively.
