U SPORTS TOP 10: Women’s volleyball keeps their No. 8 spot

This week marks the ninth time the Badgers women’s volleyball team have been ranked in the U SPORTS Top 10. 

Women’s Volleyball (15-3) – No. 8

The Badgers head into the final week of the regular season on a seven-game winning streak. 

In a two-game weekend doubleheader against the York Lions, the Badgers dropped only one set en route to two victories. 

The first matchup took place on Friday, Feb. 7, where Brock bested York 3-1 (25-20, 25-16, 11-25, 25-21). On this night, Sadie Dick led the Badgers with 14 points off 12 kills and two blocks. Despite being outhit .263 to .109 and outblocked 16-5, the Badgers found a way to scrape out the victory. 

Continuing their momentum from the previous night, the Badgers swept the Lions 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 27-25) on Saturday, Feb. 8. Emily Foest led the team with 13.5 points off 10 kills, two service aces and 1.5 blocks while Dick and Emma Baruchelli notched 11.5 and 10 points, respectively. As a team, the Badgers hit at a .333 clip compared to just .108 from the Lions. 

Next, the Badgers welcome in the Nipissing Lakers for two contests to end their regular season slate. The first contest takes place on Friday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. which is followed by the Senior Night contest on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m.
