Warriors Unable to Halt Lancers’ Momentum in Quarterfinal Loss

The Waterloo Warriors faced a tough challenge as they kicked off OUA playoff action against the top ranked Windsor Lancers. Despite their efforts, the Warriors struggled to match Windsor’s efficiency and momentum, falling in three sets.

Waterloo started strong with big kills from Nolan Reed (Grimsby, ON), leading their offensive attack. However, the Lancers quickly asserted their dominance, showing why they finished the regular season as the top ranked team with an impressive 18-2 record. Their powerful play overwhelmed the Warriors, and Windsor secured the first set 25-12.

In the second set, Lucas Redmann (Winnipeg, MB) stepped up with key attacks for Waterloo, but Windsor remained composed and efficient. The Warriors battled but had costly errors at critical moments, allowing the Lancers to maintain control. Windsor capitalized on these mistakes and took the set 25-13.

The third set saw Waterloo struggle to slow Windsor’s relentless offense. The Warriors’ blocking was unable to contain the Lancers’ power, and Windsor continued to dictate play. With their dominant performance, the Lancers closed out the match with a 25-13 victory, advancing to the next round of playoffs.
