Women’s Volleyball Falls to Marauders on the Road

Queen’s Women’s Volleyball dropped their second match to the McMaster Marauders on Saturday evening (15-25, 23-25, 16-25).

In the loss, Hannah Duchesneau (Arts & Science) led the Gaels in points with 18.5 and in kills with 16. Duchesneau also added two solo blocks and one assisted block.

In the first, the Marauders capitalized on their momentum from last night’s win—the Gaels trailed as attacks from McMaster caused them to make some rushed plays.

The Gaels fought back hard in the second and went point for point with McMaster.

Despite the Marauders pulling ahead slightly, Queen’s came back from behind and picked up their first lead of the evening with a kill from Duchesneau making the score 19-18. McMaster had the gym on their side and came back to take the set.

Queen’s showed resilience through the third, however could not slow down the Marauders. The Gaels were unable to find their grove and dropped the final set to McMaster.

With the loss, the Gael’s record on the season falls to 15-3 however, they maintain their status at the top of the OUA ranking.

The Gaels look for a win next weekend as they head to Peterborough to take on the Trent Excalibur. Fans can catch the action on oua.tv.
