WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL: LAKERS GRAB EXCITING SPLIT ON THE ROAD TO CAP THE YEAR

The Nipissing Lakers women’s volleyball team had an exciting finish to the regular season this past weekend on the road.

The Lakers wrapped up their year with a split against the Brock Badgers in St. Catharines, picking up a huge win Friday, before falling Saturday.

Friday night, Nipissing stormed back to defeat Brock 3-2 (13-25, 22-25, 25-18, 28-26, 15-13).

Oceane Raymond-Leduc had a huge match with 26 kills for the Lakers, Paige Owen added 15 and Anna Marie Horvat added 10 in the victory.

The Lakers dropped their regular season finale 3-0 (27-29, 19-25, 22-25) to the Badgers.

Raymond-Leduc led the Lakers with 17 kills, while Owen added eight in the contest.

Nipissing will now head back to St. Catharines to battle the Badgers once again in Round 1 of the post-season.
