Bold Land Outside Hitter from Ottawa, William Gimbert

TORONTO – The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men’s volleyball team continues to strengthen its 2025 recruiting class with the addition of 6’4″ outside hitter William Gimbert. Hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, Gimbert brings an impressive athletic pedigree from the Ottawa Mavericks Volleyball Club and Team Ontario.

“We are very excited to add an athlete like Will to the program” said Head Coach Niko Rukavina. “He is already spike touching at 11’3 and can bring some serious velocity on his attack and serve. Will has been a middle blocker for his club team and Team Ontario but will make the switch to outside hitter as a member of the TMU Bold.”

Gimbert shared his excitement about joining the program.
“I’ve always liked living in the city and I really enjoy all the different types of cuisine that the city has to offer. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere of the campus being right down town and really enjoyed that athletic facility as well as the youth that Niko and his team bring to the table. Furthermore, Niko seemed very invested in my development and decided to take the risk of having me switch positions.”

Gimbert is another addition to the Bold’s recruiting class as they have added several recruits over the past few months.
