Pandas head coach Carolyn O’Dwyer will swap the Evergreen and Gold for Red and White this summer, as she was named an assistant coach for the 2025 Canadian women’s Senior National Team international season.
O’Dwyer, who has led the Pandas to national silver and bronze medals in her two seasons as head coach, will be an assistant under new national team lead Giovanni Guidetti. O’Dwyer was Volleyball Canada Next Gen head coach from 2022 to 2024 and coached with the National Excellence Program (NEP) as head coach in 2022 and assistant coach in 2021.
The senior women kick-off their season in Ottawa this year as Volleyball Nations League (VNL) returns to TD Place in Ottawa, June 4 to 8. Also on the women’s Senior Team schedule this summer is VNL stops in Istanbul, Turkiye (June 18-22), Arlington, Texas (July 9-13), with the VNL Finals set for July 23-27 in Lodz, Poland. The 2025 FIVB World Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.
O’Dwyer owns a 35-9 Canada West record and a 61-15 overall record across two seasons with the Pandas. Most recently, she guided the Pandas to their 12th Canada West Championship at Saville Centre in early March.
