Any individual wanting to attend an “Open Tryout” for a University of Guelph varsity team must complete the Athlete Portal (information below). In addition, a Tryout Fee of $30 must be paid at the Client Service Desk in the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre or online. Individuals who are first-year students will need to create an account in the system. Any returning students should click on the email hyperlink to login using their central login details. A copy of the receipt for payment must be submitted to the coach and/or designate at the Open Tryout.
Step 1 – Complete the Athlete Portal (REQUIRED)
• Access the Athlete Portal using the following link: gryphons.athletesystems.ca
• Select REGISTER and complete all 7 steps (Personal Information, Academic Information, CCES, Education, Consent, Liability Waiver and Confirmation)
• If you are planning to try out for or are competing on more than one team, you MUST complete a separate registration for each sport (ie. Cross Country AND Track & Field)
NOTE: Only individuals that are selected to the final roster are required to register with U SPORTS – and applies only to teams that compete at the U SPORTS level.
Step 2 – Complete the Medical Questionnaire (REQUIRED)
Upon completion of step 1 (within 48-72 business hours) student athletes will receive an email from Input Health asking them to complete their Medical Questionnaire. Depending on the results of the Medical Questionnaire, follow up may be required by way of a virtual appointment with a University of Guelph Sports Doctor.
