MONCTON, NB – Saint Mary’s left side Emilia Mikanovich recorded 17 kills, leading the Huskies to a straight set win over the Moncton Aigles Bleues (25-20, 26-24, 28-26) in Atlantic University Sport women’s volleyball action on Sunday afternoon at CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud Gymnasium in Moncton, NB.
The Huskies were led by 17 kills and 17 digs from Player of the Game Emilia Mikanovich. Alena Piatukhova chipped in nine kills and three blocks, while setter Taylor Lougheed dished out a match-high 32 assists.
Moncton was led by 16 kills and 21 digs from Anne Paquette, while Mia Ladd recorded 31 assists.
The U SPORTS #8 ranked Huskies improve to 4-0 on the season, and will be back on home court next weekend, hosting the UNB REDS (3-0) on Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 8, with both matches set to begin at 7 p.m. GET TICKETS
The Aigles Bleues drop to 0-3 on the season, and will visit the Dalhousie Tigers (1-3) next Saturday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. at the Dalplex.
