TOP TWO OUA OFFENSES SET TO COLLIDE AS YORK HOSTS
QUEEN’S

Men’s Volleyball | 11/18/2025 4:15:00 PM

The York University Lions men’s volleyball team is ready to roar back into the Tait McKenzie Centre this weekend, hosting a crucial two-game home series against the Queen’s Gaels. Fans can catch the action on Friday at 8:00 pm and again on Saturday at 6:00 pm. The Lions enter the weekend well-rested following a bye week.

This weekend pits two of the OUA’s most efficient offenses against each other. The Gaels and Lions are currently the top two teams in the OUA for total kills, setting the stage for an offensive battle. The Gaels hold a slight edge with 343 kills over 29 sets, while the Lions are right behind them with 328 kills across 27 sets.

While the teams are closely matched offensively, the Lions will look to leverage their defensive advantage. Conversely, the Gaels bring a powerful serving game that will be key to disrupting the Lions’ rhythm and creating a tough matchup. The Lions’ offense is being anchored by Alex Dorling, who leads the entire OUA in hitting efficiency with a phenomenal .488 hitting percentage, a statistic that will be vital in challenging the Gaels’ defense.

History suggests this series will be tightly contested. Last season, the Gaels and Lions split their two-game series, with each team securing a victory. This weekend’s matchup promises to be another balanced and intense affair as both teams fight for position in the OUA standings.

For the match this Friday, immediately following the conclusion of the women’s game, there will be a special tribute celebration for men’s soccer who won the U Sports National Championship this fall.
