KINGSTON, Ont. – The Gryphons women’s volleyball team officially saw their 2025-26 season come to an end on Friday (Feb. 20) at Queen’s University in Kingston. The No. 5-seeded Gryphons fell in straight sets to the No. 4-seeded Queen’s Gaels, with set scores of 25-11, 25-17 & 25-14.
The Gryphons entered the OUA playoffs on an eight-game winning streak, but were unable to carry that momentum into Kingston, with the host Gaels getting off to a quick start and never looking back. It marked a third straight head-to-head victory for the Queen’s Gaels over the Gryphons, with the Gaels beating Guelph back on Jan. 9 and 10 in Kingston. The Gaels had three players score in double figures, led by third-year outside hitter Claire Carter (17 points, 17 kills). For the Gryphons, Ainsley Preszcator led all Guelph scores with 8.5 points (8 kills, 3 digs).
With the win, the Queen’s Gaels advance to the OUA semifinals where they will face top-seeded Brock Badgers on Friday, Feb. 27.
