TMU’s Riley Donovan Named OUA All-Star, Three Bold Earn All-Rookie Honours

BURLINGTON, Ont. — Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men’s volleyball outside hitter Riley Donovan has been named an OUA Third-Team All-Star, the league announced Thursday afternoon. In addition, three TMU first-year players earned all-conference recognition, as right-side hitter Ross Buchanan, outside hitter William Gimbert, and libero Ethan Lau were named to the OUA All-Rookie Team.

Riley Donovan — 4th Year — Business Management

• Appeared in 20 matches and 74 sets.
• Led the team in kills (198), blocks (26), and points (228).
• Registered double-digit kills in 10 of the team’s 20 matches.
• Posted an impressive .217 hitting percentage.
• One of five TMU players to reach double-digit service aces on the year, finishing with 10.

Ross Buchanan — 1st Year — Professional Communication

• Played in 49 sets and 17 matches
• Recorded 126 kills (2.57 kill/s), 58 digs (1.18 dig/s) and 31 total blocks (0.63 block/s)
• Finished with 160.0 points, averaging 3.3 points per set.

William Gimbert — 1st Year — Engineering

• Appeared in 58 sets over 16 matches.
• Recorded a hitting percentage of .210, along with 184 kills (3.17 kill/s, the highest kill per set average on the team) and 58 digs (1.00 dig/s) for a total of 201.0 points (3.5 pts/s).
• Tallied double-digit kills in 10 matches.

Ethan Lau — 1st Year — Business Management

• Played in 20 matches and 71 sets.
• Led the Bold with 129 digs (1.82/set).
• Recorded double-digit digs in four contests.
