University of Windsor Lancers men’s volleyball head coach James Gravelle has announced his recruiting class for the 2026-27 season. This group features seven new faces who will become core foundational pieces for the blue and gold.
Jakob Anderson
A 6’9″ middle from Peterborough, Ont., Anderson played club volleyball for the Durham Attack. “Jake has come a long way in a short period of time in our sport and we look forward to seeing his continued growth,” said Gravelle. “Focused, driven, and a great teammate, Jake was selected as an OVA Grand Prix all-star this past season. We expect big things from the big man.”
Cameron Bradbury
Hailing from Burlington, Ont., the 6’6″ middle played for the Halton Hurricanes, where he developed a long and athletic game with quick feet and a good arm. “[Cameron] is growing in the game and we look forward to seeing his progress in our gym,” added Gravelle.
Reed Fulsom
An outside hitter from Pakmen, the 6’4″ Waterdown, Ont. product is a strong passer and well-rounded player. Gravelle highlights his ability to attack the pipe set well and that he has a wealth of big game experience.
Connor Gunn
A 6’0″ outside hitter from Milton, Ont., the Pakmen product has a lot of big game experience in his club career that has allowed him to become a well-rounded player. “A dynamic attacker, he comes from Pakmen where he was a perennial starting player on a top team,” said Gravelle.
Davis Hinshelwood
The newest libero in the blue and gold, the 5’9″ Toronto native comes from Pakmen Volleyball, where he was named an OVA Grand Prix All-Star this past season. Gravelle adds: “The top libero in the 2026 class, he is a lock down passer and an excellent defender who will be a leader on our team.”
Micah Huisman
A local product from Amherstburg, the 6’6″ middle is a SKY Volley Windsor alum. “He is a physically gifted athlete who is newer to the game of volleyball and we look forward to seeing Micah’s progress throughout his time with the Blue and Gold,” said Gravelle. Micah is the younger brother of Geneva Huisman, who plays for the Lancers women’s volleyball team.
Thomas Verwey
Coming from Nanaimo, B.C., the 6’6″ middle played both beach and indoor volleyball, playing at the club level for Apex VC. “He has BC provincial team experience and top club experience with Apex Volleyball Club. He was named a BC 18U all-star this past season and could have an immediate impact for our program,” said Gravelle.
