Ben Allison, a third year forward from Halifax, NS, is the Huskies male athlete of the week, sponsored by Freeman’s Little New York Halifax, for the week of Feb. 9-15, 2026.
Over a pair of games, Allison recorded four points (two goals, two assists), recorded 16 shots on goal and won 33/53 faceoffs.
In Friday’s 3-2 shootout loss to the STFX X-Men, Allison assisted on the opening goal, adding two shots and winning 13/24 faceoffs.
In Saturday’s 8-1 win over the Dalhousie Tigers, Allison scored two goals, added an assist, recorded 14 shots on goal and won 20/29 faceoffs.
Allison finished the regular season as the leading scorer in U SPORTS, with 50 points (23 goals and 27 assists) in 30 games played. Allison’s 50-point season is the seventh highest scoring total in program history, with the last Huskies 50+ point season coming from Saint Mary’s Hall of Famers Marc Rancourt, who scored 57 points in 2008-09
The #4 seed Huskies will take on the #5 seed UPEI Panthers in the Atlantic University Sport Men’s Hockey Quarterfinal, with Game One scheduled to be played Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Dauphinee Centre. GET TICKETS

Syree Tucker, a fifth year left side hitter from Kitchener, Ontario, is the Huskies female athlete of the week, sponsored by Freeman’s Little New York Halifax, for the week of Feb. 9-15, 2026.
In the Huskies four set win over the Dalhousie Tigers, Tucker was named Player of the Match, scoring 12.5 points on 12 kills, 0.5 blocks, one assist and seven digs.
The #3 seed Huskies visit the #2 seed Memorial Sea-Hawks in the AUS Volleyball quarterfinal, with game one scheduled to be played on Friday, Feb. 20 in St. John’s, NL.
