Gaels cap weekend series with another win over Nipissing

Queen’s Men’s Volleyball capped their sweep of the Nipissing Lakers with a 3-1 (25-19, 25-23, 21-25, 25-18) victory Saturday in North Bay, Ont.

Erik Siksna (Markham, Ont.) had another strong performance for the Gaels, finishing with a game-high 18 kills while also adding three aces, six digs, and two assists.

Zig Licis (Louisville, CO) added 10 kills, three aces, and three blocks.

Chris Zimmerman (Prince George, B.C.) finished with a game-high 32 assists while Lhexen Rabit (Hamilton, Ont.) led Queen’s with eight digs.

With the victory, the Gaels improved their record to 12-4 and jumped to third in the OUA standings. Queen’s will host the first-place Guelph Gryphons (13-3) for a doubleheader next weekend, Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC).
