Gaels extend winning streak to 10 with straight sets win over Mustangs on the road

Queen’s Women’s Volleyball defeat Western 3-0 (25-19, 26-24, 25-20) Friday night in London, Ont. to open a doubleheader weekend.

In an intense battle on the road, Hannah Duchesneau (Sharon, Ont.) led the Gaels to victory with 15 kills, supported by Amanda Siksna (Markham, Ont.) and Mary Stewart (Uxbridge, Ont.), each contributing 6 kills.

Lauren Mellon (Oakville, Ont.) also delivered an outstanding performance, contributing 2 aces and 4 blocks.

Shea Baker added 28 assists (Vancouver, B.C.) in the match.

With the win, the Gaels improved their record to 17-2, maintaining their second place title in the OUA standings. The Gaels will play the Western Mustangs again tomorrow, Feb. 17 at 2:00 P.M, to bring their regular season to a close.
