Gaels open weekend road trip with straight sets win over Lakehead

Queen’s Women’s Volleyball got off to a winning start to their weekend road trip, defeating the Lakehead Thunderwolves 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-23) Friday night in Thunder Bay, Ont.

Claire Carter (Hamilton, Ont.) led the Gaels offensively in the win, finishing with a game-high 15 kills. Aimee Lemire (Paris, Ont.) was right behind Carter with 13 kills, while Hannah Duchesneau (Sharon, Ont.) added 10.

Kennedy Millin (St. Catharines, Ont.) finished with 34 assists and Kristine Boileau (Waterloo, Ont.) had 10 digs.

Queen’s improved their record to 13-2 with the win, and will close out their doubleheader against Lakehead tomorrow night at 6 p.m.
