It’s an exciting time for women in sports: the Northern Super League just kicked off in Canada, the Professional Women’s Hockey League is expanding and the thriving WNBA posted its highest attendance in 22 seasons.
Monica Leitham Hantho, BEd’81, and Mark Hantho, BCom’81, want their alma mater at the forefront of this trend. Their generous $1.25-million gift to McGill provides support for women’s athletics while helping to drive discovery at the Sylvan Adams Sports Science Institute (SASSI) to improve female athletic performance and inform coaching practices.

Le don de 1,25 million de dollars de Monica et Mark Hantho à leur alma mater financera des services pour les équipes des Martlets et la recherche novatrice sur la performance des athlètes féminines
Il s’en passe des choses dans le sport féminin ces temps-ci : la Super Ligue du Nord vient de donner son coup d’envoi, la Ligue professionnelle de hockey féminin poursuit son expansion, et la WNBA a enregistré son plus haut taux de fréquentation en 22 saisons.
Monica Leitham Hantho (B.Ed. 1981) et Mark Hantho (B.Com. 1981) veulent propulser leur alma mater en première ligne de ces avancées. Leur généreux don de 1,25 million de dollars à McGill apportera un grand soutien aux athlètes féminines, en plus de financer les travaux de l’Institut de recherche Sylvan-Adams en sciences du sport (IRSASS) visant à améliorer la performance des femmes et leurs pratiques d’entraînement.
