Men’s football running back Malik Williams and women’s volleyball player Emilia Mikanovich have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Freeman’s Little New York Halifax, for the week ending November 2, 2025.

Malik Williams, a fifth year running back from Ajax, ON, is the Huskies male athlete of the week for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 2, 2025.
Williams was named Player of the Game in Saturday’s 37-0 win over the Acadia Axemen in the AUS Semifinal.
Williams rushed for 118 yards on 16 carries, including two touchdowns. His 48-yard touchdown run in the second quarter gave the Huskies a 25-0 lead, and he added a three-yard touchdown in the third quarter to extend the lead to 35-0.
In eight regular season games, Williams rushed 77 times for 426 yards and an AUS leading 11 touchdowns, the third highest single season touchdowns in Huskies football history.
With the win, the U SPORTS #5 ranked Huskies advance to the Loney Bowl championship game, where they’ll host the STFX X-Men on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. at Huskies Stadium, with a trip to the U SPORTS semifinal Uteck Bowl on the line. GET TICKETS

Emilia Mikanovich / Women’s Volleyball / Minsk, Belarus / 4th year / Science – Biology
Emilia Mikanovich, a fourth year left side hitter from Minsk, Belarus, is the Huskies female athlete of the week for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 2, 2025.
Mikanovich was instrumental in a pair of Huskies wins over the weekend, scoring a combined 34 kills, four aces, two assists, two blocks and 30 digs.
In Friday’s 3-2 win over Moncton, Mikanovich led the Huskies with 22.5 points, scoring 17 kills, four aces, one assist, two blocks and 13 digs.
In Saturday’s 3-0 win at Moncton, Mikanovich was named Player of the Match, scoring 17 points on 17 kills, one assist and 17 digs.
Mikanovich has helped lead the U SPORTS #8 ranked Huskies to an undefeated 4-0 start, and leads the AUS in points (73.5), points per set (4.9), kills (62), kills per set (4.13), total attacks (171), digs (62), and ranks fourth in service aces (6) and eighth in blocks (7).
The Huskies will be back on home court next weekend, hosting the UNB REDS on Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 8, with both matches set to begin at 7 p.m. GET TICKETS
