WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL: Lakers sign recruit Holmes for
2026

North Bay, ON – Nipissing Women’s Volleyball is proud and excited to announce the signing of Libero Kaylee Holmes for the 2026 season.

Holmes grew up in Hong Kong and currently resides in Markham, Ontario. Kaylee plays for the Durham Attack Intensity 18U and attends Markham District High School.

When asked to describe herself as a player, Holmes said “I show leadership on and off the court. I play hard every point and try my best to get balls in the air.”

Kaylee expects to continue her growth as a volleyball player with the Lakers. She is looking forward to raising her game in OUA competition.

“We would like to welcome Kaylee to the Lakers family,” said head coach Marc LaRochelle. Witnessing Kaylee in training, what was obvious is her great communication skills both on and off the court.  Technically Kaylee has a solid passing platform and a tenacious defensive attitude that will suit her well progressing to the OUA level.”

The Durham Attack Intensity won provincial championships in Holmes’ 17U season and are poised for another strong season in Kaylee’s 18U season this year.

When asked why she chose the Lakers, Holmes said “I chose Nipissing because of the community of the school and team. The small class sizes were also appealing to me. Being far away from home will help teach me independence as I take on new challenges academically and athletically.”
