After cementing her place in Brock history, Sadie Dick is set to begin the next chapter of her volleyball career.

Sadie Dick signed with the professional team UTE Volleyball, who competes in Hungary’s top division, the Extraliga, on May 6

“I am extremely excited to start the next adventure of my volleyball career with UTE Volleyball in Budapest,” Dick said. “When I first came to Brock, I was unsure if I wanted to play professional volleyball, but I am so grateful that this program has shown me that I don’t want my career to end just yet.”

The local St. Catharines product leaves the Brock women’s volleyball team as the program leader in points with 1,069 and kills with 890.

During her four-year tenure, the Badgers captured three consecutive Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Quigley Cup titles and hosted four straight provincial championship matches.

“I am super proud and happy for Sadie,” said head coach Steve Delaney. “She has come a long way since leaving Pittsburgh and wondering if volleyball is still for her. I know she will be a success at her new club in Hungary.”

With Dick as a focal point of the team’s offence, the Badgers appeared in three U SPORTS Championships which was highlighted by a sixth-place finish during the 2021-22 season.

This past season, Dick received a U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian selection after finishing seventh in the OUA and 13th in the country in blocks (65) and eighth in the province in hitting percentage (.269)

Dick made an instant impact in her first season with the Badgers in 2021-22 after transferring from the Pittsburgh Panthers who compete in National College Athletics Association (NCAA) Division-I.

She was named to the OUA All-Rookie Team that season and went on to earn two OUA West First Team All-Star selections and two OUA West Second Team All-Star honours during her illustrious career.

Dick will report for training camp in Hungary in August, with the professional season set to run from September to May.

In 2024-25, UTE Volleyball finished fourth during regular season and sixth in the league playoffs, after dropping a close 3-2 contest to MÁV Előre Sport Club in the fifth-place match.
